"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable." I Cor. 15:19

Paul was admonishing us in I Cor 15:19 to take a look at where our hope lies. If we think that our life only exists in the here and now, we are of all men most miserable. Beyond this terra firma called earth is another place the Lord has promised to those who faithfully serve him. Putting our hopes in our bank accounts and 401k's, or in our spouces or our jobs, is waisting the precious promises God has for us in His Word.

Jesus came to give us life and that more abundantly. He came to give us joy and peace on this earth but also to show us through the eyes of Hope an eternal city that awaits those who are faithful, even unto the end. The trials and tribulations of this life are not to be compared with the Hope the Lord has given in his Word for a future to come.

Let us look to our God whose name is Jesus for that Hope. We are told in Heb 12:1, to "lay aside every weight and the sin, which does so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds though Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4:7

When I think of peace many things come to mind. One in particular scene stands out more than the rest. When I lived in Oregon I had a three hanging baskets on my front porch. In the middle basket was a nest that a family of Oriels had made early that spring. One day we had some heavy thunderstorms and lightning and the wind kicked up something fierce. I thought to myself, I hope that basket doesn't blow off the hook....Well that basket swung back and forth in the wind in the midst of torrents of rain and thunder and lightning. That mother bird sat on the nest protecting her babies and shielding them as they swung and pitched back and forth in the the storm. Those baby birds hadn't a care for they were under the protecting arms of their mother.

Gods Love is like that towards His children. Whatever storm we are going through and whatever trial tries to frighten us and leave us tossed to and fro, He is there covering us with His protecting arms of Love. If God can take care of the birds, how much more will He take care of us and give us peace in the midst of the storms of life. All we need to do is Trust Him and cling to him and he will carry us through the tough times.

Whatever the situation or trial you are going through today, Jesus knows about it and wants to give you peace and hold you in His loving arms. He said, "Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Allow the Lord to give you His rest and peace today. He waits for you to ask.

Tender Touch
The tender touch of our Lord's great hand is closer than each of us can comprehend. It is not far away and hard to find, but ever ready to bless and be kind. We in our pride do not seek His loving touch. We think we do not need Him much, as we busily attend to our day. But because of our pride we dearly pay. Then on our knees we come pleading and ask the Lord. "Why aren't we succeeding?" We beg and cajole, bargain and plead, "Please dear Lord help us in our hour of need!" Why is it we pray the most when troubles come and to our doubts we succumb? His hand is ever ready to reach out and bless if our sins we would confess. Put God first in your day, and His tender touch, He will not delay.

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow, For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" James 4:14.

Have you ever got so caught up in everyday life that you have found yourself coming as fast as you are going??? Suddenly one day.. boom it happens... you just hit a brick wall. You stop and contemplate what happened.

Life is like that. Suddenly we look back at our lives and wonder where did all the time go. Our children are grown and we are older. Each one of our lives is like the vapour spoken of in James.. We are here but a short time on this earth. There is a song that goes like this...... "Only one life so soon it will pass, only what's done for Christ will last, only one chance to do his will, so give to Jesus all your days it's the only life that pays when you recall you have but one life."
What will you do with your life? Will you live for Jesus?

Or, will you continue on the fast track.. going as fast as your coming without even knowing where your going?

Beauty Tips

Week 2 Beauty Tips
This weeks tips will be on Skin Problems and Solutions............
Itchy, flaky body skin.... Add oils to your bath, if possible or pour a small amount of oils on a loofah and rub it on your skin(I like to use Cold pressed Almond oil) you can get it at a bath shop or health store.
Puffy Eyes..... Thin cucumber slices used as a compress over closed eyes. Try a Black Tea Bag soaked in cold water on each eye for ten minutes will reduce swelling. Gently press from inner to outer corners to hasten drainage. Also, avoid salty foods which causes fluid retention.
Dark circles..... Lay down and apply raw potato slices under the eyes and allow juices to absord into affected areas. Also, soak cotton pads in rose water and apply to eye area for ten minutes.
Rosacea..... A constant redness in the center of the face that won't go away. Avoid these triggers : (Hot drinks, spicy foods, sun exposure, temperature extremes, rubbing the face)
Treat with: Aloe vera gel, Dandruff shampoo applied directly--do not dilute,One tablespoon dried basil leaves mixed with 1/4 cup vegetable oil.
Burns...... Soak the burn in milk for 15 minutes. The fattier the milk the more effective it will be. For a large area soak gauze or cloth in milk and apply to burn.
