My Alaskan cruise with my daughter started with a big bang....I left my passport at home. :( Smooth..
We first took a taxi to a foot ferry, then we were to connect to another ferry to get to Seattle Wa. At the second ferry I realized I forgot my passport at home. What an idiot I was-my perfectly planned route to the cruise ship suddenly took on the scene of a dreaded nightmare!!!
After, realizing I forgot my passport at home both my daughter and I began calling all the people we knew that could pick us up and take us back to my home 20 minutes away, but to no avail - everyone was either not home or not answering their phone....Well after another $26.00 Taxi ride- another hour to another ferry in another city, we managed to head across the water to Seattle.
When we arrived we found out the cruise ship was 2-3 miles away and I was not going to walk that distance with all the luggage I had! (understand ladies) so yet another taxi ride to the ship.
As we unloaded our luggage at the ship several people were instructing us on where to go and what to do... I felt like I was going in a circle.
Well after pushing us in one direction telling us to hurry then sending us in another direction, we finally were given a personal escort to the ship, Wow VIP treatment. Only problem was we had an audience watching us from the ship; I am sure laughing at our timely arrival. Well we made it with 5 minutes to spare. I think I learned my lesson!!!!!! I know my daughter hopes I did too. :)
1 car ride & parking spot - $72.25
2 ferries - $14.00
3 taxis - $48.00
making the ship ... priceless
