One Soul
Jesus Said," Which man of you having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? Luke 15:4
Jesus was very emphatic about the price of one soul. He placed alot of emphasis in his Word when it came to the saving and redeeming of a lost soul. He thought that one soul was worth everything. He was so willing to save one lost soul, that he robed Himself in flesh and gave himself as a ransom for lost mankind.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16
It is man's inherent nature that causes him to seek his own way and choose to do wrong. Jesus is not willing that any should perish...not one lost sheep that went atray would Jesus forget..so he went to look for him. In this parable, we see Gods Love for man. The sheperd didn't have to go find that one lost sheep who strayed, for he had ninety-nine more just like it. It is not a matter of numbers. It is a matter of Gods love for you and me.
Jesus is our Good Sheperd. He wants only the best for us and wants us to turn to him and trust him. Like the sheperd who sought and found that one lost sheep, Jesus is seeking that one lost soul who has strayed from Him.
Maybe you are reading this today and you have strayed from the Good Sheperd. Turn your heart toward home and he will take you in. Know this one thing...He will not stop until he has found you..because He loves you!!
"The Lord hath appeared of old unto me saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. Jeremiah 31:3
If the Lord is drawing you... hear Him today.

THE DEEP VOICE OF GOD CALLS TO DEPTH'S OF MANS SOUL.
There is within every man a desire to know if there really is a God out there. When I was growing up I attended many churches. Searching for something...there was a void in my heart that could not be filled. I searched everywhere and prayed much for the deep emptiness in my heart to be filled. I knew there was a God out there but didn't know where to find him. One day I found him and received an experience so powerful and real. The Deep voice of God called unto the depth of my soul and I knew there was a God. For you see, he filled me with his presence, his Holy Spirit. My life has never been the same. The emptiness has been filled with a love and a joy so powerful at times it is hard to contain. Let me tell you friend God is Real!!!!

You may be searching for something to fill that empty void in your life. You may feel unsatisfied, you have tried everything from drugs to alcohol to a prestigious position on your job, but still fill empty inside. I would like to tell you there is a God and his name is Jesus. He is the answer to every question. He is the light at the end of the tunnel. He gives peace that passes all understanding. If he is tugging at your heart just open up and let Him speak to you. Let the deep voice of God call unto you right where you are. He loves you with an everlasting Love.

"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable." I Cor. 15:19

Paul was admonishing us in I Cor 15:19 to take a look at where our hope lies. If we think that our life only exists in the here and now, we are of all men most miserable. Beyond this terra firma called earth is another place the Lord has promised to those who faithfully serve him. Putting our hopes in our bank accounts and 401k's, or in our spouces or our jobs, is waisting the precious promises God has for us in His Word.

Jesus came to give us life and that more abundantly. He came to give us joy and peace on this earth but also to show us through the eyes of Hope an eternal city that awaits those who are faithful, even unto the end. The trials and tribulations of this life are not to be compared with the Hope the Lord has given in his Word for a future to come.

Let us look to our God whose name is Jesus for that Hope. We are told in Heb 12:1, to "lay aside every weight and the sin, which does so easily beset us , and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

"And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds though Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4:7

When I think of peace many things come to mind. One in particular scene stands out more than the rest. When I lived in Oregon I had a three hanging baskets on my front porch. In the middle basket was a nest that a family of Oriels had made early that spring. One day we had some heavy thunderstorms and lightning and the wind kicked up something fierce. I thought to myself, I hope that basket doesn't blow off the hook....Well that basket swung back and forth in the wind in the midst of torrents of rain and thunder and lightning. That mother bird sat on the nest protecting her babies and shielding them as they swung and pitched back and forth in the the storm. Those baby birds hadn't a care for they were under the protecting arms of their mother.

Gods Love is like that towards His children. Whatever storm we are going through and whatever trial tries to frighten us and leave us tossed to and fro, He is there covering us with His protecting arms of Love. If God can take care of the birds, how much more will He take care of us and give us peace in the midst of the storms of life. All we need to do is Trust Him and cling to him and he will carry us through the tough times.

Whatever the situation or trial you are going through today, Jesus knows about it and wants to give you peace and hold you in His loving arms. He said, "Come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Allow the Lord to give you His rest and peace today. He waits for you to ask.

Tender Touch
The tender touch of our Lord's great hand is closer than each of us can comprehend. It is not far away and hard to find, but ever ready to bless and be kind. We in our pride do not seek His loving touch. We think we do not need Him much, as we busily attend to our day. But because of our pride we dearly pay. Then on our knees we come pleading and ask the Lord. "Why aren't we succeeding?" We beg and cajole, bargain and plead, "Please dear Lord help us in our hour of need!" Why is it we pray the most when troubles come and to our doubts we succumb? His hand is ever ready to reach out and bless if our sins we would confess. Put God first in your day, and His tender touch, He will not delay.

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow, For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away" James 4:14.

Have you ever got so caught up in everyday life that you have found yourself coming as fast as you are going??? Suddenly one day.. boom it happens... you just hit a brick wall. You stop and contemplate what happened.

Life is like that. Suddenly we look back at our lives and wonder where did all the time go. Our children are grown and we are older. Each one of our lives is like the vapour spoken of in James.. We are here but a short time on this earth. There is a song that goes like this...... "Only one life so soon it will pass, only what's done for Christ will last, only one chance to do his will, so give to Jesus all your days it's the only life that pays when you recall you have but one life."
What will you do with your life? Will you live for Jesus?

Or, will you continue on the fast track.. going as fast as your coming without even knowing where your going?

Beauty Tips

Week 2 Beauty Tips
This weeks tips will be on Skin Problems and Solutions............
Itchy, flaky body skin.... Add oils to your bath, if possible or pour a small amount of oils on a loofah and rub it on your skin(I like to use Cold pressed Almond oil) you can get it at a bath shop or health store.
Puffy Eyes..... Thin cucumber slices used as a compress over closed eyes. Try a Black Tea Bag soaked in cold water on each eye for ten minutes will reduce swelling. Gently press from inner to outer corners to hasten drainage. Also, avoid salty foods which causes fluid retention.
Dark circles..... Lay down and apply raw potato slices under the eyes and allow juices to absord into affected areas. Also, soak cotton pads in rose water and apply to eye area for ten minutes.
Rosacea..... A constant redness in the center of the face that won't go away. Avoid these triggers : (Hot drinks, spicy foods, sun exposure, temperature extremes, rubbing the face)
Treat with: Aloe vera gel, Dandruff shampoo applied directly--do not dilute,One tablespoon dried basil leaves mixed with 1/4 cup vegetable oil.
Burns...... Soak the burn in milk for 15 minutes. The fattier the milk the more effective it will be. For a large area soak gauze or cloth in milk and apply to burn.

Beauty Tips

The First In A Series Of Beauty Tips:
First of all Attitude is the first step in being beautiful. There is a saying that goes like this......Beauty is only skin deep but ugliness is to the bones. We can portray a beautiful attitude and people will think we are attractive. Having a healthy self-esteem will lead to a beautiful attitude about ourself and others.
Now to the Tips......... This week will be Facial Beauty Tips. Some of these I have tried and they are inexpensive to purchase and is usually found at the grocery store.
Tips For The Face::
1. For Normal to Dry Skin.. Don't bother with soap because it will dry out your skin more, instead just rinse your face with very cold water and pat dry. Cold water will bring the blood to the surface of the skin and help the cells to regenerate. Hot water drys your skin and thus defeating the purpose. If you want to use a toner, WithHazel is great for this because it is a natural astringent. If you want to use a moisturizer I recommend a natural moisturizer (made of natural ingredients that does not contain alcohol) and also contains a sunscreen of at least SPF15. (Zia Products have this balance)
2. For Oily Skin---One of the best facial cleanser for this type of skin is Powdered Milk mixed with water. It is a lactic acid wash that will cleanse and exfoliate the skin. Lemons are great to use for a toner after cleansing your face. Lemons also help restore the PH balance of the skin. For a moisturizer use an oil-free type. It may not be necessary to use a moisturizer for this type of face but it is a great help to always moisturize under the eyes with an eye gel not a cream. Creams are to oily.
General tips.........
Age Spots can be lightened with lemon juice left on for about 10-15 minutes (fresh lemons are the best) it also gives the face a healthy shiny glow. Just cut off a piece of lemon and rub onto the face.
Brown spots and Discoloration can be lightened by using 2 tablespoons Lemon juice mixed with one packet of raw sugar and applied to the face and then scrub lightly with an old toothbrush. Leave on for about 15 minutes rinse with cool to warm water.
For Dry Chapped Skin you can use a face mask of fresh purreed Avocado and mix in a small amount of olive oil. Leave on for at least 5 minutes. More if you prefer.
Taking Flaxseed oil the fresh pure kind, is great for the skin. I like to use Barleans Flaxseed Oil with Lignans, this will help tremendously with maintaining healthy skin and it has a long list of other health benefits too.

Never forget your passport at home!!

My Alaskan cruise with my daughter started with a big bang....I left my passport at home. :( Smooth..

We first took a taxi to a foot ferry, then we were to connect to another ferry to get to Seattle Wa. At the second ferry I realized I forgot my passport at home. What an idiot I was-my perfectly planned route to the cruise ship suddenly took on the scene of a dreaded nightmare!!!

After, realizing I forgot my passport at home both my daughter and I began calling all the people we knew that could pick us up and take us back to my home 20 minutes away, but to no avail - everyone was either not home or not answering their phone....Well after another $26.00 Taxi ride- another hour to another ferry in another city, we managed to head across the water to Seattle.

When we arrived we found out the cruise ship was 2-3 miles away and I was not going to walk that distance with all the luggage I had! (understand ladies) so yet another taxi ride to the ship.

As we unloaded our luggage at the ship several people were instructing us on where to go and what to do... I felt like I was going in a circle.

Well after pushing us in one direction telling us to hurry then sending us in another direction, we finally were given a personal escort to the ship, Wow VIP treatment. Only problem was we had an audience watching us from the ship; I am sure laughing at our timely arrival. Well we made it with 5 minutes to spare. I think I learned my lesson!!!!!! I know my daughter hopes I did too. :)

1 car ride & parking spot - $72.25
2 ferries - $14.00
3 taxis - $48.00
